Conchis

I have used the  shou-sugi-ban method of charring the wood on these sculptures. The wood surface is charred and the brushed with a suade brush. The process is repeated several times until the grain or figure is revieled. 

The sculptures are supported by a hand forged steel plinth. These plinths were once one strip of metal, which once served as a tie strap in a 1600 cottage, in my home city of Norwich.
