Copy of Royal Horticultural society Commission

So far I have had sculptures in two Gold winning Chelsea Flower Show gardens and one silver guilt Hampton Court Flower Show garden. one Sandringham Flower Show gold winning garden, and this year:
Exciting news!
I have been commissioned by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to create a brand-new sculpture and water feature for this year’s Sandringham Flower Show!

This piece is carved entirely from local Elm wood, sourced right here in Norfolk from the wonderful team at Fairhaven Water Gardens.

The story behind the wood:
This beautiful tree had to be removed as part of emergency tree management — it was dead and unsafe — but instead of being lost, it has been given a wonderful new life. I want to say a huge thank you to Fairhaven Water Gardens for generously providing this timber, and a special mention and big thanks to Matt Jordan, who organised and arranged the wood for me — I really appreciate your help!

About the design & meaning:
The sculpture features handcrafted metalwork holding three large leaves aloft. I chose metal to represent how Elmwood is famously as hard as iron — strong, durable, and built to last.

The water element is no accident either: historically, before modern materials, Elm was the timber of choice for water pipes and aqueducts because it withstands constant moisture so well. This piece brings that history full circle — flowing water once again moving through Elm, just as it did centuries ago.

Working from my studio here in Bunwell, I’ve shaped this timber into something that blends nature, history, and craft — designed to sit perfectly within the stunning heritage of Sandringham Estate. It has been a joy and a privilege to work on something so meaningful, turning a fallen tree into something that will flow and bring beauty for years to come.

You’ll be able to see it on display at the show — I’d love to see you there!

I AM ALSO DELIGHTED TO BE INVOLVED: RHS SANDRINGHAM SHOW GARDEN

I am very excited to share that I will also be exhibiting and creating a new sculpture for the Butterfly Garden, designed by Amanda Thomas of I Gardens, as part of the RHS Sandringham Show Garden.

This piece is crafted entirely from local Ash wood, using thermo ash — a specially treated timber that enhances stability and durability, while keeping the natural character and beauty of the wood we have right here in Norfolk.

Working alongside Amanda’s vision for the garden, this sculpture is made to sit perfectly within a space dedicated to nature, pollinators, and wildlife. It is a privilege to contribute to a garden that celebrates our local environment, using timber sourced from this area, connecting the landscape, the design, and the craft in one piece.

From my studio in Bunwell, I have shaped this timber to complement the planting and the purpose of the Butterfly Garden — a place of calm, colour, and life. I hope it becomes a feature that people enjoy, and that it feels completely at home among the plants and wildlife it was made to sit beside.

You will be able to find this sculpture within the Show Garden area at the Sandringham Flower Show, alongside my other water feature piece. It means a great deal to have two works in this year’s event, and to be part of such a creative and inspiring project.

It was an honour to be  commissioned to create a sculpture for the Copella Plant and Protect Garden at the Hampton court Flower Show.

The project was lead by award winning landscape architect "Sadie May Stowell". Sadie May gave me a copy of the garden design and free reign to created a sculpture that would work in harmony with the garden.

The Copella garden won a Silver guild award.

I loved working on this project and hope to be involved with similer projects in the future.
