About
I am a Norfolk based wood sculptor, drawing inspiration from natural forms, the shapes and forms suggested by the elements and art native to the countries I have travelled.
I carve wooden sculptures out of trees that have fallen or have been felled for safety reasons. The timber that I use is local to me, I know where, how and why the tree came down. I have worked as a climbing Arborist since 1999 where I graduated from the highly commended Merrist wood college in Surrey. Since graduating I have built a network of contacts that share my love for trees, understand my passion for carving and the species of trees I like to work with.
Every sculpture I create is unique, it cannot be replicated beacause every tree has its own unique growth pattern.
These growth patterns steer my hands and tools to create sculptures sympathetic and harmonious to the organic material.
